HOST: Olivia Galicia
Olivia sits at the helm of a respectable real estate collection now but the first home she sat in had dirt floor and cardboard for a roof.
As a little girl in Mexico, Olivia was her mom’s little right hand woman, first in a food stand and later on in a series of small restaurants. By the age of 9 she was both the dishwasher and cashier. She came to the United States around the age of 12. After her second child was born, she decided to go back to college. She exchanged her full time job for a part time job and went to school while raising a family. She became the first in her family to graduate from college. She earned her degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Cal State LA. She then passed the Certified Public Accountant’s exam. She immediately went to work in the new family business. She served as Controller, manager, human resource person, and as the tax and financial planner for both the business and the family.
Needles to say, the business become incredibly successful. Because of her business and real estate savvy, and despite two bouts of cancer, an erratic economy, and the humblest of beginnings, she become wealthier than the little girl sitting on the dirt floor could have ever imagined. Around her 50th birthday, having recently retired, she decided it was time to pass down her accumulated financial knowledge and wisdom to the next generation and to anyone who was willing to learn how to take care of their money.
She founded a nonprofit, the Financially Fit Foundation in 2011 after continuously seeing the financial devastation going on all around her. There were so many people loosing their homes and/or in so much credit card debt. She felt she could help end needless suffering around money and show people what it really means to be rich. When she’s not managing her real estate or running the foundation, you’ll find her traveling, meditating or tearing up the dance floor.

What people are saying about our past workshops:
“It was empowering --the knowledge received has forever changed my relationship to my finances. I’m happy that my future is bright! Before, I used to ignore my money. I felt like I never had enough and thought that my money would just disappear. I pay more attention now. My money stays longer in the bank, and I'm actually saving!”
