{"id":4020,"date":"2015-07-10T05:12:19","date_gmt":"2015-07-10T05:12:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/financiallyfitfoundation.org\/?p=4020"},"modified":"2015-07-10T05:12:19","modified_gmt":"2015-07-10T05:12:19","slug":"is-it-possible-to-have-total-spending-freedom-and-be-financially-fit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/financiallyfitfoundation.org\/site\/is-it-possible-to-have-total-spending-freedom-and-be-financially-fit\/","title":{"rendered":"Is it possible to have total spending freedom and be financially fit?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Having just celebrated the 4<sup>th<\/sup> of July, I thought I&#8217;d clarify a myth that might be keeping you from having financial freedom and independence, or even achieving financial fitness.<\/p>\n<p>Do you think that financial freedom and independence means &#8220;being able to buy whatever I want, whenever I want, without worrying about the price tag?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s just not so.<\/p>\n<p>If that&#8217;s what you think being rich is, it would be no wonder why you and many others would be resistant to the planning, discipline, organization, and learning that&#8217;s required to live the kind of rich life we subscribe to.<\/p>\n<p>Even if you&#8217;ve seen it in the movies, heard stories, or know of people that actually spend like that, it doesn&#8217;t make it real or sustainable. To be sure, there are tons of people who seem to live that way but are living a well-hidden financial lie &#8211; they&#8217;re stressed out and miserable but look fabulous from the outside as they become a slave to the lifestyle.\u00a0 Or they don&#8217;t even have the money to spend like that in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>Even if they really do spend like that and have the money to pay for it, it&#8217;s a short-lived rich life and they eventually go broke or bankrupt. Even massive fortunes have been lost because of this mindset. Truly rich people, even those who buy a lot of nice things, are very careful with their money. To be financially chaotic and out of control is the opposite of financial peace and the two simply cannot coexist.<\/p>\n<p>This particular mindset is a trap disguised as freedom.
