The first time I heard it I was sure it had to be a joke. I had friends listen to it and some thought it was hysterical while others were downright appalled. Have you heard Usher’s I Don’t Mind song?!
The chorus goes like this…
Shawty, I don’t mind if you dance on a pole
That don’t make you a hoe
Shawty, I don’t mind when you work until three
If you’re leaving with me
Go make that money, money, money
Your money, money, money
‘Cause I know how it is, go and handle your biz
And get that money, money, money
Your money, money, money
You can take off your clothes
Long as you coming home, girl, I don’t mind
So much can be said about this song (and I’d love to hear what you think!) but what’s for sure is that we as a society are willing to do a lot for money – except take diligent care of the money we already have.
If you’re reading this, the overwhelming chances are that you make enough to get by. The problem is that we suck at managing money (it’s not totally your fault though because you were never taught and there wasn’t an easy place to go to learn – until now! 😉 And management is the secret to everything we want from money – especially freedom and peace.
If you’re considering a new way – to learn how to manage your money rather than being single focused on making more, we invite you to try our Basic Personal Finance workshops series. (It would also serve you to know that no amount of money can give you the peace and freedom you seek from money if you don’t manage it well.)
Our first two workshops, designed to get you organized and on track, are less than 10 days away! You can sign up now for just the organization class ($49.99) and/or the budget class ($49.99) in the afternoon on that same day (Jan 17th) or a package offer of all four basic personal financial workshops plus the organization kit for $219.99. The kit is also sold separately for $45 and can be purchased on site. The address of the Pasadena location of the workshops is provided upon registration.
Best,
Chelsea
P.S. This is not a dig against strippers! To each their own. I don’t judge. Stripping is out of the question for me because I turn into a pumpkin at 11pm and because I wasn’t blessed with my mama’s dancing feet 😉
You can listen to the song here. Warning: not kid friendly and potentially offensive. If you dare to hear it, listen for the other guy in the song “Juicy J” who yells out random comments throughout the song — cracks me up!
